Descale and Clean kettle descaler will remove limescale, efflourescence, cement, rust and mortar stains from brick, concrete, quarry tiles, ceramics, glazed tiles, stainless steel and many other surfaces. It contains inhibitors to prevent damage to stainless steel, chrome and other bright finishes, is harmless to most paints and finishes when correctly diluted, it also has Low Foam Surfactants to penetrate deposits quickly and to cut down foaming especially when used warm.
Descale and Clean is a mineral acid based product strong enough to cope with the tough jobs, but mild in its action to ensure that delicate surfaces are not damaged. It contains a bactericide which is effective even at dilutions of up to 100:1, it does not liberate toxic or unpleasant fumes during use and will not cause flash rusting.
Descale and Clean is ideal for the cleaning, preparation and conditioning of concrete floors prior to painting or sealing, descaling kettles, stills, condensers, boilers and steam cleaners without damage, and can be used as a de-rusting fluid, leaving a protective film to help prevent further corrosion.
For use as a hot derusting agent, or to descale boilers and heat exchangers in situ, dilute at up to 20:1 and use at 50 deg C.

I bought this for domestic use as we live in a very hard water area and regularly have to descale items such as the kitchen kettle, shower head and iron. Before using for the first time, I looked on the website to obtain a Health & Safety data sheet, to ensure that I used the chemical safely and correctly, as i was a bit dubious about using an industrial chemical at home instead of the usual supermarket tablets, but I could not find one and had to hope that I had read the miniscule writing on the back of the cannister correctly. As my first usage was to descale our domestic kitchen kettle, I wanted to be sure that I would not poison my family.. After use, I rinsed out thoroughly and then boiled and emptied this away. We are still here, so I guess that I did it correctly, but bolder and more detailed instructions would have helped or a data sheet. Incidentally, it worked very well.
